Originally from Columbia, South America, Fr. Mihlton comes from a large Catholic family. In 2006, he arrived at the Archdiocese of Seattle, starting in the Skagit Valley before being assigned to St. Louise in Bellevue. He was assigned to St. Michael Parish in Snohomish before being assigned to the Lewis County Parishes.
I was born on December 13, 1973 in Colombia (South America). I come from a large Catholic family. I am seventh child in my family. I have 9 brothers and 7 sisters. Both of my parents are still alive as are all of my brothers and sisters. My family is humble, simple, they are farm workers. I attended primary school in my hometown, and high school in the city of Pereira. At the end of these studies I underwent a two-year period of vocational discernment. I attended the seminary of Mary Immaculate Seminary of the Diocese of Pereira, Colombia. This is also where I was ordained on November 17,2001. My first appointments were for small towns in Colombia. These assignments stirred within me a strong desire for evangelization. During this time I combined my pastoral ministry with continued theological studies at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Medellin. Here I concentrated on a specialization in dogmatic theology. In April 2006, I came to the United States. In July 2006, the Archbishop of Seattle appointed me as the Parochial Vicar of the Skagit Valley Catholic Churches. On July 1,2010, I began my second assignment within the Archdiocese of Seattle as the Parochial Vicar at St.Louise Parish, Bellevue. My favorite’s scripture passages are: “Go therefore, and make disciples from all nations” (Mt.28:19); and “Remain faithful even to death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Rev.1:10) My hobbies are reading, listening to music, playing soccer or basketball and visiting with my friends. “Ad majorem Dei Gloriam".
